About Me

I was born in 1977 in Columbus, Ohio. I lived from birth to young adulthood in a cinder block house in rural South-Central Ohio, on the fringe of the Appalachian portion of the state. The closest village (Tarlton) has no stop lights and a population of about 280.

I grew up with my two sisters (one 9 years older, one 3.5 years younger) and mother. My parents both worked in a General Electric Lamp Plant (making florescent tube lights) in Circleville, the nearest city to us. My mother completed an Associate's Degree in Computer Science when I was about 10 and later worked as a computer programmer-analyst for the State of Ohio by the time I was in high school.

I attended the local public schools (Amanda-Clearcreek Local Schools), which required long bus rides through the countryside each day. I spent K-8 at Clearcreek Elementary/ A-C Junior High in the village of Stoutsville, Ohio. The school was torn down in 2003 (in progress in the picture).  The sign is all that remains today.

I then graduated from Amanda-Clearcreek High School in the village of Amanda, with an honors diploma. That building has also been destroyed, but looked like this:

I have been married for over 19 years and have a 4-year-old son. I currently live in Poway.
